This week I want to talk to you about something I struggle with ALL the time. I struggle with speech, so my pitch or thirty – sixty-second commercial is never what I practiced it to be. I can do so much more with writing, hence why I have this as a blog and not a static website. Plus how will I help a business out, if I am not continuously updating progress and other helpful tips and info.

Back to my troubles with my thirty-second commercial, to those who have watched me struggle through them and have looked past it I want to truly thank each of you. No matter how much practice I do it just does not seem to work. I will be starting to work with someone next month with this specific skill that I would love to improve on.

I have learned that no matter how good your product or service is, if you can’t deliver the message in the thirty seconds, people do not see you as a professional. Now to those who have looked past my speech troubles, and have taken the time to chat with me further, thank you for that. I can certainly get out what I want to through conversations, I guess it is the put on the spot commercials I have a harder time with.

I have read so many things to help me get my message out of my mouth, faster I have practiced tons, still do even on the way to an event. It just has not worked for me, I am not sure why. Which is why I am now seeking out a professional.

I was doing an exercise recently and I really liked it, since the way I talk in my opinion is I need fewer words that are more effective in meaning. So this exercise, sorry not sure where I saw it but this exercise I have been trying to come up with some great words that explains what I do, but in 10 words!  I may have seen this exercise from Darby and Partners, which is a great group that I am honored to be a part of and learn from them. Or I may have seen in with my business coach, Ellen with Business Resolutions, or even at one of the WPN masterminding luncheons. Those are the main places I have found to give the best anything business and they provide so much support and solutions as well. So I may have seen it somewhere within them.

So the exercise is create a list of 5 – 15 words that are effective at describing your business.

Immediately my mind starts wondering what words to write, should they all be on the business side of my business or for the consumers side of my business? I have no clue, but I will get this exercise done, I just might go ahead and do two lists, one for me seeking vendors and one for the receivers of the gifts. I see the benefit of both lists, so I think I will go and get that done. I will post about the lists later. I wanted to toss this exercise out to you to see what you come up for your business. I really think by me doing this exercise, I will be able to come up with an interesting commercial, how about you?

So back to this portfolio and why I am creating one. I want something for offline use. When I am, at one of my networking events, or doing a one on one with a potential business or some other situation that would like to see how it works, what other businesses have done and how it helped them as well. I sort of will be using it as a testimonials for offline. Not at every networking event will I be able to bring Goody Lady bags with me, some events I attend regularly, like a leads meeting. My goal for Goody Lady gift receivers is to be as unique as possible.

If I attend a particular event each week and it has the same people in it, which when this occurs it is like for leads clubs. I wouldn’t give a Goody Lady bag to the same group, every week. I rather ask them if they needed more free gift or complimentary gift cards for their display at their office or place of work for their clients or customers. Remember Goody Lady wants to reach as many unique people or have unique impressions as possible.

I am attending regular luncheons with my WPN sisters, I went to one last week and I get so much out of it besides a tasty lunch. Each time I go I get to see people I have already met and I also meet new people. Each time I not only get to mastermind with the best ladies but I get to see things from different views and make more friends. You can never have too many, unless your on Facebook, right.

I wanted to get Goody Lady going and in the right direction from the start, so that I do not get into bad habits and other things that will not benefit either of us. I have a business coach that is keeping me in the right direction. I am also working with another amazing person who like my business coach is keeping me focused, and making sure that I stay grounded, I continue to learn more about many topics, and that I implement what they are teaching me. I also am in with my local chamber of commerce as well.

Do you belong to any groups who offer many things to help you grow personally and professionally? What do you like about them? What are you taking away from it? If you frequent my blog, you will see posts from homework, yes I said homework that I get from the different business building blocks I attend. Hey if I am going to not just have my business and represent your business, you want to be sure I am doing to right. I know you want to be sure that I am continuously improving, learning and creating ways to get your product and services into a persons hands, to ensure you that  your decision to use Goody Lady to be a very confident one. Freaking Fantastic Blogging and List Building Challenge

I am joining in on this interesting thirty-day challenge to help generate more interest, buzz, and seek more vendors to participate in Goody Lady service.  I can’t connect businesses and customers if I don’t get the word out. I love to give out complimentary gifts to people and in doing so I am helping a business grow, I am helping a non-profit gain and continue their awareness, and I am helping event planners create a memorable event.

This challenge will be interesting, I will be using it to seek vendors. Why do you ask and what is in it for the business? My business is all about helping to build other businesses. This is an all in one inclusive exclusive swag gift bag service. I create a fun, soft connection between a business and a person that has either never heard of the business or they have but due to not knowing enough, they say no. Something great to remember is sometimes a person says no, because they do not know enough, sometimes they say no because they have yet to try it, and many want to know that you care and they want to save money as well.

So here is your chance to shine, I will be posting about this thirty-day challenge, each time it posts I will get to help more customers learn all about you. This helps those who are seeking online proven ways to get their business out there. This also helps consumers know that they will get different things to learn about, they will be able to directly tell businesses exactly what a consumer wants and needs. My portfolio in particular will have specific businesses, testimonials and other info in it for helping a business make the confident decision to use Goody Lady services.

Pay It Forward

Hello welcome to Goody Lady, thank you for taking time to come and check out some posts. I want to talk about Goody Lady Pay It Forward cards. I want to create my own pay it forward cards, Goody Lady style :).

So have you heard of pay it forward? The concept is great and brings people together more intimately and allows for many random acts of kindnesses to occur. We go through many things during our day-to-day activities that we tend to forget we are human, we have many emotions and feelings that are forgotten. What if you were having a bad day one day and someone handed you a Goody Lady random act of kindness card and when you look on it, it has a fun enlightening message and you get a free gift from it? What feelings and emotions will you then be feeling?

I would like to create a Pay It Forward Goody Lady Gift Card.

On one side I will have a fun message about Random Acts Of Kindness and Pay It Forward. The other side of the card I would like to have What the Kindness Offer Is. The Kindness offer will be directing the person who received the card to come and request their Free Goody Lady gift bag.

The card will tell them that when they are done requesting their gift, to now Pay It Forward. Pass the card along to the next person. This will not be on your typical business card, I want this special card to be plastic. I am choosing to make it into a plastic card so that it will hold it’s durability while being passed from person to person, paying it forward each time.

My goal for this is to help you share about the free gift offer, and having this card made to be plastic, will create a very durable card. Goody Lady Beginings P2

This is the second part to Goody Lady beginnings. Please check out the first one HERE.  I talked about the very first time I started with Goody Lady in October for Halloween.

So I started to prepare for the next fun holiday – Christmas. I love this time of the season. It is a fun time of loving and giving, my two favorite things. I get to enjoy the activities with others, which makes it more fun. I asked a couple of more people to join in, there were two different jewelry companies they went into separate bags so that there’s no competition between them, there was still plenty of Lemon Grass items, and Women’s Connection also joined in, then I had my own items from Scentsy and Thirty One. That will be another post so be on the lookout for that. I had a lot of fun giving out all the little gift bags to everyone. Between October and December I handed out almost 500 bags.  I happily gave that many fun treats to people and they enjoyed getting them. My sales increased just by showing them I cared enough to offer a free sample and coupons too.

So I highly recommend this service to all businesses, of all types old, new, big and small. The direct sellers and handmade is not left out, you are welcome to join. Nonprofits are wanted to join in too.

Because I saw that this is something that is working, it is generating buzz not just for me, but the other people who were participating. I decided that I can and will fulfill two different VERY things.

1. Businesses need advertising, marketing (gardening) and promoting. They need to get out to as many unique peopling as possible to share what they offer to others.
2. People want to learn about what is out there. They want to try things before they buy. People do not know about a product or service, unless it is presented to them.

Now people will shy away if you’re trying to sell them, no one wants to have that yucky feeling of being sold, so why push them? People however do like to try things out. I offer a soft introduction of your company to unique people. When I say unique it means unique impressions, as in you will not be going to the same people each time. If people have an issue and your product or service can help offer a solution, then they are open to learning about it IF they are not hurried, rushed, and pushed into a buying corner.

Goody Lady fulfills both of these so it is a win-win situation! A person gets to finally learn and try out a product or service; they can save money from those who offer coupons and gift certificates. This is done in a relaxed setting, such as their home and they find their Goody Lady bag in their purse, pocket or bag. People will remember a business if they have a fun, interesting, and engaging presentation. It doesn’t matter if your business is a Brick and Mortar, MLM, or you think you can only do home parties to earn money, or even for the network marketers. If you only offer a service, please know people want to hear about what you have to offer, except if you’re pushy, desperate, or show that you don’t care, and then they will want nothing to do with you, your brand or company. People want to feel heard, want friendliness, want to try things out; they just see things differently than what many business owners present.
